    Art Description:

Two men interrogate a third while a mirrored image of the defendant looks on from behind. Both mirrored image and questioned assailant are apparitions of the same person.

The setting is a dark candlelit room of a vacated mansion wherein furniture covered in cloth also suggests ghosts. Ambiguity of the scene is enhanced by the floating candle lights which potentially intimate reflections on glass as if we are viewing the interrogation from behind a two-way mirror.

I know, its confusing, but this is a noir mystery unfolding! The mood is simultaneously tense and comical; the ghost appears to be afraid of the men instead of vice versa. The palette is both black and white and "in color". This latter feature is a reference and a riff on the dubious practice of repackaging old black and white films in "colorized" versions to supposedly "breathe new life into them". Green gaseous blobs float between the men like like thought bubbles.

A body of work should not be a cadaver evidencing life that was but rather the flash-point for life which ignites anew on each renewed encounter.
