Art Description:
She's asleep somewhere off stage. Instead of seeing her dreaming we see what she's dreaming which is a plump blonde lady toweling off after a bath in her boudoir which appears to be both interior room with a table containing comb and vase of flowers but also outside as seems to have one in pool of water near a green knoll. This lends her largesse a giant like scale. The metafiction deepens as the dreamer checks in with her distorted image abstracting in an oval mirror. Dreams are strange this way; turning things inside out for the mind to puzzle over. As the waking mind tries to retrieve the narrative and apprehend meaning the dreamt details evade capture and retreat from sight. Signs whose instructions were already illegible disappearing as we attempt to decipher them. Painting is an opportunity to reveal the fragmentation as a fluid event pouring over combing through the recognizable yet illusory symbols of disjunctive dreamscapes.
