"Elocution" is a distinct style of pronunciation. A way of speaking clearly and precisely. I bring ideas from literature, music, science and culture into painting to cross reference the intent of my investigation into seeing and translating vision into painting.
The painting fragments typographical forms in the service of abstraction. While it appears to use clarity of contour and bandwidth to make crisp pronouncements with animated structures building on one another, ultimately what it is saying remains open to interpretation. Instead of pronouncing words aloud, it intimates the meaning of the unknown through tone, color, movement and contrasting edges. In other words, a language unto itself spoken crisply.
