      Art Description: First Wave No.1 is the first work from the lockdown collection, where were created during the first lockdown in the UK. With the change in how many people in the EU and America "went to work," David was unable to go to the studio to create new works, but as with creativity, the desire to create does not end with the location. Each of these works is a new attempt at expression in a for ever changing world. Each is a one of digital creation incorporating more traditional methods stripped down to its bare self. Each is pigment embedded in scratch proof acrylic glass, too an ultra-high definition for an extra stunning piece. Ready to hang. Edge to edge picture without frame.

      David's artworks are pleasurable, contemplative expanses that draw the eye. They are intense abstractions of humanity marked by a balance of movement within the space. They encase equal parts sensation and inquiry. When creating a new work he has adopted a signature process in which he applies the oil paint in much the same manner as watercolours, thought they inherently less yielding. That restriction allows for new approaches and methods. The results include brilliant, durable pigments rooted in mid-motion gestures.
