Art Description:
Essentially an abstract painting with ostensibly unrelated images the presence of which provoke the viewer to read them as symbols with some conscious meaning; the aspiring tip toes of youth for instance. The vigilant gaze outside the frame of a loyal companion. A decorative pot for the ashen remains of the dearly departed. The truth is closer to a collage aesthetic wherein decisions are made to thwart logic rather than integrate a path to meaning indeed the legs and socked feet are oil on canvas glued to the extant canvas. Everything is arranged and painted to delay the arrival of a single reading and extend the language of painting itself beyond description toward suggestion pure poetry.
Medium Used: Oil and collage on Canvas
