Art Description:
In the spirit the Arte Provera (poor materials) movement and favorite painters such as Anselm Kiefer I took this sunflower painting in a direction which has both an illusion of space and the reality of material facts by building up a surface with both conventional and non-traditional materials to suggest flowers rising up not only from earth but also from and above man made detritus. My goal with all the work is to generate imagery that suspends questions rather than answering them. Art is best when it contains curiosity and sustains mystery.
