Art Description:
Impossible to Calculate or Measure comes from the definition of infinity. It is a large scale improvisational meditation on " the dark' i.e. that ambiguous space created by the absence of light where our imaginations fill in the blanks. The painting is Minimal in that there is very little color except deep tobacco browns and broken asphalt blacks. There is no subject or central focus except for the sweeping gestures and dripping paint. However, it packs an impact in its restless ambivalence between forms appearing and retreating. The title could easily be interchanged with the Shakespeare quote, "To sleep perchance to dream."
Medium Used: Oil on Canvas
