    Art Description:

"The title refers to the process through which the painting went from to start to finish. A dream of large bells clanging together launched the inquiry. These objects became animated and anthropomorphized into a crowd of carnival like characters who remain ambiguous and open ended to interpretation. The goal is to seal them into defined recognition but to keep the forms changing. "Once they were..." speaks of this evolution and harkens back to a suggested past bringing the element of time into play. ideally I'd like the work to look like a child's imagination produced it in colored scribbles."

Medium Used: Oil on 2 abutting 48x60" canvases

A body of work should not be a cadaver evidencing life that was but rather the flash-point for life which ignites anew on each renewed encounter.
