    Art Description:

This is painted on a tabletop I found and rolled a great distance to my studio. It is very heavy and will require skillful installation. It is based on a blurry vintage snapshot of my mother Dora Mae Winfield circa 1957. Dora was poor and frail. Television was magic to her and a new lens on the larger world from her small rural home in Shallowater, Texas. I painted John Singer Sargent's Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose into the TV because it is to me what tv would have been to her. It represents both a sense of wonder and the rich history of art.

    Medium Used: Oil on Wood

A body of work should not be a cadaver evidencing life that was but rather the flash-point for life which ignites anew on each renewed encounter.
