Visual Artist Italy
From the artist:
"My art begins in childhood memories, with colorful ballerinas drawn with chalk on the blackboard, dancing in hourglass shapes as if they were animated by a breath of life. These early moments of wonder have shaped my approach to art: a dance of colors and shapes that evolve and come alive each time a gaze rests on my works.
In my artistic practice, I strive to capture the ephemeral and the eternal, the fleeting moment that nevertheless leaves a lasting impression. My works are dynamic, designed to be consumed quickly with the eyes, but with a visual aftertaste that persists, changing and evolving with each observation.
The colors in my paintings are not just pigments applied to a canvas, but rather an emotional language that speaks directly to the soul. Like Antonino Puliafico, I find that artistic energy is something visceral that emerges from within. It's not a controlled process, but rather a spontaneous flow that guides my hand until the painting declares itself complete.
I use oil and acrylic colors, applied with spatulas and brushes, in a play of textures and tones reminiscent of the Fauvist and Impressionist movements. My art is an exploration of freedom, a journey through my personal perception of the world, where colors dance and tell stories of emotions, moments, dreams.
In my work, I invite the viewer to pause, contemplate, and discover that each piece is an ongoing dialogue between me and my audience. Each piece is an invitation to explore, to feel, to experience art with the same passion and intensity with which it was created."
Since the start of his career, Antonino has embraced the use of oil colors, preferring the palette knife as his primary painting tool. This choice has led to the creation of textured and vividly colored works that resonate with the styles of the Impressionists and Divisionists. His canvases are a triumph of texture and hues, where each palette knife stroke adds a unique and tangible dimension to his compositions.
Throughout his career, Antonino has participated in numerous exhibitions and competitions, leaving an indelible mark in the contemporary art world. His recent participations include "Metamorphosis II - Art Exhibition in London" from September 22 to October 1, 2023, and the "SaturArte 2023 28th National Contemporary Art Contest", further solidifying his reputation as a prominent artist.
Antonino has also received numerous accolades, including the Luxembourg Art Prize Certificate of Artistic Merit for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022), acknowledging his continuous artistic research and the quality of his works.
Currently residing in Verona, Antonino continues to explore new artistic horizons, remaining true to his vision and roots. His works are a dialogue between Sicilian artistic tradition and contemporary influences, bridging the past and present in each canvas. His art is not just a visual expression but an emotional journey that transports the viewer into a world of beauty, color, and passion.
