Art Description:
This piece is a combination of several series and interests; Pop Art, painting from collage and The Bathers. The Bathers sequence is an ongoing inquiry into life before the fall….In it I'm generating fictions and ghosts through depiction of figures communing with water. The goal is to sensate that feeling of youth we have when we swim, float, wade or contemplate water. I intend these characters to be spirited away in pools of the mercurial past. The investigation has lead to the evidence of the endless summer ending over and over again. The bathers are stand ins for the fugitive nature of time. They are the ghosts of youth congregated and pooling; on beaches and banks, rivers and streams of consciousness.
