Art Description: This subject literally leapt out at me one day in the city when I walked past a very old ornate watch shop. As with most of my inspiration, I allow it to formulate naturally through my subconscious curiosity and let it dictate to me where we will go. In the city at the time I felt claustrophobic and swamped by the grandeur of wealth, commercialism and subtle manipulation. These were the dominant forces in my mind at the time, which led to this humorous play on words. The smiling clock face.. entitled "Ten to Two" a way of being able to write the wording "Please buy me" in the grinning mouth without meaning it. The work 'revolves' around subliminal, socio-political media manipulation of the market economy. It represents the conflicts arising from the hidden agendas disguised within the evolution of political change. This is represented by the clock through the imagery of time. The concept is to motivate progressive thought from observations drawn though, understanding the shifting paradigms during emerging changes in philosophy from classical liberalism to the social market economy and economic beliefs. The subtitle could also be. ' The priority of the price mechanism' in the mind of the classic liberal". The grinning mouth showing you time but secretly asking you to part with your money.

I'm an abstract painter/sculptor working in mixed media. My aim is to encourage critical thinking through the study of progressive knowledge by researching the thought processes that ancient people went through. I look at playful puzzles in nature and science creating designs that draw upon curiosity and wonder. I'm a UK Artist who has dedicated his career to a life-long process working with and exhibiting Art and Site-specific Sculpture, made from precious metals and found materials. It is here with my found materials, I find myself exploring ways through my creative expression applying the materials in line with my feelings until they resonate through the complex layers of the higher self. Like water divining, I look to where secret meanings are hidden within the fabric of uncharted quantum power and connections within the subconscious mind.
