    Art Description:

Cubist inspired interior intended to disorient and interrupt spatial continuity. Square format square geometric abstraction based on two smaller cut and paste collages. See alternative photos for collages "Metamorphosis Restart and "House Within a Home'. Everything is painted in oil except for the collaged woodgrain on the guitar. Palette is predominately gray with accents of purple and green. The motivation was a major change as I recently moved from a rented apartment and studio in Brooklyn NY to a purchased home/studio in Union, New Jersey. The dream of owning a beautiful home has come true and I couldn’t be happier but the transition is not without a great deal of work and the culture shock of trading my beloved urban lifestyle for the leafy suburbs takes time. This painting houses some of the reorientation necessary to embrace the awkwardness of change.

A body of work should not be a cadaver evidencing life that was but rather the flash-point for life which ignites anew on each renewed encounter.
